Your agent’s done.
You’ll hear it.
Stop checking the terminal. Get a sound when your coding agent finishes a turn, fails, or needs you. Then get on with your day.

It’s easy to miss a finished coding run while you’re doing something else. Agent Alarm makes the finish audible, lets you choose a chime, song, or recording, and follows the working hours you set. The film shows illustrative product scenes.
A little ping.
A personal touch.
A victory song.
A quiet chime for everyday finishes. Your own voice for a nudge. A celebration for that hour-long run. Pick what gets your attention.
And when you’ve heard enough? Hit Done. The sound stops.
Original sounds, made locally. Your own audio works too.
Less hovering.
More living.
Everything here is included.
Yes, for free.
Hear when you’re needed.
- A turn finishes. A run fails. An agent needs approval. Give each moment its own notification and sound.
Make it sound like you.
- Choose a built-in sound, import a song or recording, or let your Mac speak the alert. Set your own volume.
Keep your own hours.
- Set working windows and quiet hours. Pause alerts, switch to Focus, or use Do Not Disturb when you need space.
Celebrate the long runs.
- Pick an event and a minimum run time. Add your victory sound and an optional confetti popup. Done stops the alarm.
Missed it? Get a reminder.
- Build an escalation sequence, snooze an alert, or mute a session. Acknowledge it when you’re ready to get back.
Know it’s still working.
- Optional activity sounds mark starts and tool activity. Choose the sound and how often you want to hear it.
At home on your Mac.
- A native app in your menu bar and Dock. Hide the Dock icon if you like. Monitoring continues when you close the dashboard.
Your work stays yours.
- Runs locally. No account, app telemetry, or transcript reading. Optional phone alerts use your own Pushover connection.

That was a big run.
Make a moment of it.
Set a celebration for a long turn, a verified task, or a successful deployment. Add an agent or project filter to make it specific.
Deployment and verified-task events need an explicit success signal from your integration. A regular turn ending isn’t proof of a deployment.

Just a useful little app for your Mac.
Good questions.
Straight answers.
An early beta, made to be useful.
A few things to know before you install.
Is Agent Alarm really free?
Yes. Agent Alarm is free to download and use, including the features on this page. There’s no account to create and no subscription. Optional Pushover phone alerts use a separate third-party service, which may charge its own fees.
What do I need to run it?
An Apple Silicon Mac (M-series) running macOS 14 or later. Download the DMG, drag Agent Alarm into Applications, and follow the setup. Python is included—there’s nothing else to install for the app itself.
Will macOS let me open it?
This is an early beta that isn’t notarized by Apple yet, so macOS may block the first launch. Our installation guide explains the first-launch process. Download only if you trust the source. Read the installation guide →
Does a completion alert mean the whole project is done?
A regular completion alert means the agent finished a turn. It doesn’t prove an entire project is finished. Verified-task and deployment celebrations require an explicit success event from an integration.
Does it work with my coding agent?
It supports hooks for Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor, plus generic CLI events. Available events depend on your installed agent version and hook settings. Cursor approval-request detection isn’t supported.
Can I use my own song or voice?
Yes. Import MP3, WAV, M4A, or AIFF audio up to 60 seconds and 20 MiB. You can use a song, your own recording, or a sung announcement. Built-in sounds and native speech work without a cloud service.
What happens when I click Done?
All app audio and speech stop immediately, the celebration closes, and its remaining reminders are cancelled. Closing the celebration window does the same. Future independent alerts still work.
Go do your thing.
We’ll make a sound.
