Install the app

  1. Open the downloaded DMG.
  2. Drag Agent Alarm into the Applications shortcut.
  3. Launch Agent Alarm from Applications and keep it there so its agent hooks have a stable path.

First-launch notice

This early beta is ad-hoc signed and has not been notarized by Apple. macOS may block the first launch. If you trust the source, first try opening the app, then review the app-specific option in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Follow the system’s confirmation. You do not need to disable Gatekeeper globally.

Connect your coding agent

  1. Follow the four-step setup: connect an agent, choose a sound, set your availability, and test your alerts.
  2. Review and install the agent hook changes. Restart the agent afterward. In Codex, open /hooks and review/trust Agent Alarm’s hook definitions.
  3. Run a real turn. Confirm its event appears in Activity and that you can hear the completion sound.

Make it yours

Use Sound Studio for custom audio, speech, and activity cues. Use Celebrations for a special sound and optional confetti after your chosen event and minimum duration. Done stops all app audio and acknowledges that celebration. Schedule controls when alerts can interrupt you.

Optional phone alerts

You can connect your own Pushover account in Settings. Agent Alarm itself is free; Pushover is a separate service with its own terms and possible fees.

This beta has been installed and exercised locally. Clean installation on a second Mac is still pending. Available hooks depend on agent version. Cursor approval-request detection is not supported. A turn ending does not verify a whole project or deployment.
